About Galway Environmental Network

Purpose and environmental focus

Galway Environmental Network is concerned with the places people live and the natural systems those places depend on — rivers, coastlines, bogs, hedgerows, woodland and the species they support. Our focus is on environmental awareness, biodiversity, responsible use of resources and sustainable everyday living in Ireland.

Organisational history, governance details and formal legal information will be added here only when confirmed by the appropriate organisational records.

Mission and vision

Our mission is to promote environmental awareness, encourage responsible attitudes toward natural resources, and support the exchange of information and ideas that contribute to environmental sustainability.

Our vision is a future in which environmental awareness is part of everyday life and the protection of natural resources is treated as a shared responsibility.

Core values

Environmental responsibility, integrity, transparency, respect for nature, learning, collaboration, accessibility, accountability, responsible communication and long-term thinking. These are set out in full on the Our Values page.

Approach to communication and education

We aim to present environmental information plainly, with sources, and without exaggeration. Where we describe activities, we distinguish clearly between confirmed work, proposals and general educational content.

Transparency and accountability

Information on this website that has been supplied by the organisation but not yet independently confirmed is labelled accordingly. Corrections can be requested at any time through the Contact page.
